Trotting Through Life Attempts A Serious Interview (But Sadly, The Host, has to Put Up with a Fanboy as his Co-host)

Prologue

Magic Dust: Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh. I get to talk to Colt Porter.  I get to talk to Colt Porter. I get to talk to Colt Porter.

Moviefan12:   Dustie, I'm glad your excited but please keep your fanboy in check.  We want this to be a very smooth and professional interview because if all goes right, this could land us an interview with Princess Twilight Sparkle.

Magic Dust: Humph,  Yeah I won't there for that one.  Blech!

Moviefan12:  Yeah, forgot about that.

Magic Dust: Anyways, this should go over better then the time, you tried to interview Princess Cadance.

Moviefan12: I told you to never speak of the Princess Cadance interview.  One little mistake and your enemy number 1 of The Crystal Empire with Crystal ponies claiming that your'e King Sombra reincarnate.  They probably have Crystal Empire spies out looking for me.

Magic Dust:  Crystal Empires spies?  Do you mean Pinkie Pie?

Moviefan12:  Shh, they're already onto us.  Anyways, I hear Mr. Porter coming right now.

The Interview

Moviefan12: Mr.  Porter,  thank you for joining us for this most prestigious honor.   It's not often that we get to interview a celebrity of your caliber here on Trotting On Through Life.

Colt Porter: Thank you, Moviefan12, It's great to be here today.

Magic Dust:   I"M  TALKING TO COLT PORTER!!!

Moviefan12:  Excuse my partner,   he's just a really big fan.   You might say a little psychotic.    Anyways, shall we begin this interview.

Colt Porter: Always nice to meet a fan.    It's just great to know my art can move one so young.

Magic Dust : Yeah, let's stop stalling.

Moviefan12: Ahem,  yes well.  I think we should begin and what better question to start with then how did you get your cutie mark?

Magic Dust: Ooh, ooh,  I know, I know.  I know how Colt got his cutie mark.  It's the first story any Colt fan learns.

Moviefan12: I'm sure you do, Dustie but this is Mr. Porter's interview.   Please without further ado or interruptions,  I imagine that our audience would love to hear this story.

Colt Porter:    That happened in school choir class. They were holding auditions for a singing solo, and I wasn't going to try out-believe it or not, I was a really shy young Colt. However, I had a friend named Melody who urged me to try, so I did. The song was so beautiful, that I just couldn't help myself, once I started to sing. I could feel the song fill my heart and nothing else existed but the music. I could feel my voice soaring as tears--er, sorry, liquid pride leaked down my cheeks. When the song ended, there was a silence so profound, I opened my eyes and saw everypony looking at me with stunned expressions on their faces. At first, I thought I’d done so horribly that they were shocked, but then, they slowly smiled and started to applaud. I felt a warm glow coming over me and I felt like I’d finally started my life. Then the teacher nudged me and pointed to my flank, and YES! I had my Cutie Mark. I knew I was destined to be a singer.

Moviefan12: Thank you for sharing that rather inspirational and  quite moving, yes moving story of a young colt discovering his special talent.  It brought a tear to my eye. It  always brings me joy to hear how one learned of their destiny.  Magic Dust,  do you have anything you'd like to add?

Magic Dust: Melody,  why does that name sound so familiar?  Oh my goodness,  that was the name of my music teacher.  Miss Melody.  Miss Melody trained with  Colt Porter.   I was just one pony away from knowing you. That is so AWESOME!!!

Moviefan12:  Many  ponies know that you have performed in Las Pegasus countless times but how many times, have you actually  preformed in the greatest city for showmares and showcolts?

Colt Porter: Great town, Las Pegasus. I try and return as often as I can. The tour swings around for shows about every 2 months, where we sell out the main showroom at MetroGoldenMare Hotel/Casino. So, about 9 times, so far.

Magic Dust:  I wanna go to Las Pegasus.  I'd give my right hoof to see you preform there!

Moviefan12: Please keep your hoof and  that may be a future birthday present for an adorable little fanboy of a colt.  I must apologize that was rather uncouth of me. Try to keep this professional, Moviefan.

Magic Dust: Really?

Moviefan12:   It's often been cited that one of your biggest influences was Dean Maretin,  would you please  elaborate on that?

CP: Well, I’m a big lover of the old-school crooners: Dean Maretin, Nat “King” Colt and Ol’ Blue eyes...yeah...love “the Stableman.” Those Ponies could really make you think you were soaring on the wings of the Pegasi when they sang.

Magic Dust: That's how I feel when I listen to your music and when I look into the eyes of Fluttershy.

Moviefan12: Yes well,  we should move on.  My next question,  for her birthday,  you had the distinct honor of preforming for Princess Celestia.  What was that like?

Colt Porter:   The Princess is a class act all the way. She never treated us beneath her, or stood on ceremony. She was just so kind, you know? It was a genuine pleasure to sing for her and she really seemed to have fun during the show. Every Princess should be like her.

Magic Dust" *snickers*  Sounds like it went better then the time, Moviefan12 wanted to talk to Princess Cadance.

Moviefan12:  DID I NOT MENTION THE CRYSTAL EMPIRE SPIES?  Oh my,  I must apologize for my outburst.  That just brings back some rather treacherous memories.   Anyways,  I'd say  some of the rulers in my land could learn a thing or two from the rather gracious Princess Celestia..   Our final question tonight has to do with a certain rumor that you trained Octavia, is there any merit to this claim?

Colt Porter: AH! see, that’s a rumor somepony started back at the start of her career. She said something that was taken out of context. She’d said “I wish I’d studied under Colt Porter He would be a great singing teacher,” and the reporter, hiding in a haybale thought she’d said, “I studied under Colt Porter, He was a great singing teacher.” In fact, Octavia is a complete natural when it comes to singing. I’d love to sing a duet with her at some point.

Moviefan12:  I had no idea that she was quite the singer.  I knew she could play a mean cello but yes, when you break it down, that rumor doesn't make much sense.   I imagine both her fans and and your fans would love a harmonious collaboration.

Magic Dust:  Hmm,  I probably should stop spreading that rumor and the rumor about Octavia being related to the Pie family.

Moviefan12:  Yes, you should stop spreading those rumors, Magic Dust. Rumors can only lead to trouble.   It is rather unethical to commit such a heinous deed.   I do apologize for my partner's behavior,  Mr. Porter.      Mr.  Porter,  it was once again an honor to  have a pony of your pedigree join us.

Magic Dust: Wait, wait, I have a question that I really want to ask.

Moviefan12:  I know I'm probably going to regret this later on but go ahead.

Magic Dust: Colt,  I can ya call Colt.  When I get married to Fluttershy,  will you preform at my wedding?  Please!

Moviefan12:  Dusite,  she doesn't even know you like her!  So, why are you already planning your wedding, if you haven't made a move and last I heard, she's dating Soarin'.   So, your loss buddy.   I do apologize for  my partner wasting your time with that rather preposterous scenario that is bound to never happen.

*Colt passes Dustie a business card*.

Colt Porter: Here. If you manage to make that wedding dream happen, call my agent and we'll book the date to perform for the happy day.

Magic Dust:  OH MY GOSH,  THIS IS THE GREATEST DAY EVER!!!!!!!    Colt Porter agreed to preform at the wedding to the mare of my dreams.   Excuse me, I think I'm gonna faint.

*Dustie faints and falls to the floor*

Moviefan12:  Excuse my partner,   Mr. Porter.   I do believe that this was too much excitement for Magic Dust to handle.  On behalf of my partner, thank you  for taking time out of what I assume is a rather  hectic and taxing schedule to sit down with us here at Trotting Through Life.    This will surely go down as a momentous  occasion for the two of us.

Magic Dust *slowly gaining consciousness:  Yeah, this was so awesome.   *faints again*

Colt Porter:  Thank you for having me on the show. Best of luck, Dustie.

Moviefan12:  Once again, thank you Mr.  Porter and I would to thank all of our readers as well to  taking the time to read this rather  brilliant interview.

Epilogue

The Next Day

Moviefan12:  *gently nudging Dustie*:  Magic Dust, c'mon get up.  We've got an interview to do.

Magic  Dust:  *slowly waking up:  Huh?  Wait, didn't we interview Colt Porter yesterday?

Moviefan12:  We never interviewed Colt Porter. That must've been a dream, buddy.

Magic Dust:  NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moviefan12: Gotcha!

Magic Dust:  What for?

Moviefan12: Payback for the last Questions For Magic Dust!

Magic  Dust: Yeah well, Princess Mi Amore Cadenza!
