Party With Pinkie: The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows

Hello & welcome back to Trotting Through Life and after taking a month off, Trotting is returning to Party With Pinkie and I hope to finish it in November.  So, that in January, I can do a new retrospective but it'll be much shorter and focus on either Starlight or Trixie.  But that's a ways off from now. For a reminder, including this, I have three episodes, 2 Equestira Girls shorts, Pinkie's Mirco Comic and the Chapter Book by G.M. Berrow.  With that out of the way, let's begin.

The Plot

Like with the last episode that I reviewed for Party With Pinkie, Party Pooped, this episode is rather repetitive. Pinkie learns a secret that Shining Armor and Cadance are to have a baby (Little Flurry Heart that we were introduced in season 6) and the episode revolves around Pinkie trying to keep that secret before Shiny and Cadie arrive in Ponyville but there are things that keep stressing Pinkie out such as Pinkie seeing a baby, while helping at a party and making a balloon baby bottle or the Sofa and Quill store having a Royal Baby Sale. Or Mayor Mare asking if Pinkie has ever had a big secret that she's wanted to share

Now, the episode does pick up a bit during the latter half with the scavenger hunt bit as you see the stress eating at Pinkie as she tries to hurry along her friends and you do get some cute moments such as seeing a baby AJ and it ends at Sugarcube Corner with Twilight finding out that she's going to be an aunt and Cadance being happy that Pinkie was able to keep the secret and Pinkie says it was a piece of cake but breaks he fourth wall and mouths "No, it wasn't"

All in all, this was an okay episode. Not one that I feel the need to ever revisit.  Yes, it did have a repetitive nature unlike the previous episode in this series but this episode more teetered on boring than anger inducing.

Character

Pinkie Pie voiced by Andrea Libman

Pinkie was enjoyable in this episode and it's always fun seeing Pinkie stress out but really, other than that, I don't think that there was much to this episode. I enjoyed Pinkie's actions but again, they came close to being boring.

My Final Thoughts

This episode isn't bad and it's repetitive nature doesn't make me angry unlike Party Pooped but I feel like this episode just goes through the motions to get from point A to point B.  Join me next time as we look at...

The Gift of The Maud Pie
